Organizing Thanksgiving #1

It is starting to get dangerously close to TURKEY TIME!!  And, if you are like me and hosting this celebration this year, it’s time to start getting serious about this.

Whether you are having 2 or 20 people, planning ahead can help you actually enjoy the time you have to spend with your guests.
I by no means am an expert on throwing large gatherings but I do try my best when I do.
Going into the first week in November, it is time to Invite, Plan and Delegate or spread out the load to those who will be joining in.
Send out the invite!  There are so many cute invitations these days that you can send out.  This one is by TinyPrints.  Super cute!
You can call, email, facebook or make your own invite.  You just need to get it out there so people can plan and so can You!
When you get your rsvp’s, you can delegate out any of the meal you are wanting help with.
There are super handy printables that can help you organize your upcoming meal.  I am using some from Your Way as well as ideas from BHG.   I like to use a binder and keep everything together, watch for that post coming up soon.
Do this NOW — this weekend!
1. Notebook: Gather or buy a notebook or Binder
2. Guest List: Write out your guest list.
3. Menu: Plan the menu and decide what YOU want to cook first, and then what you want your guests to contribute. (But be flexible!)
4. Invite: Call, mail or email your guests and invite.
5. Delegate: When you hear back from your guests, follow up right away and tell them what you’d like them to bring
