Investment properties

My hubby and I love projects, getting out hands dirty and really feeling like we have accomplished something.  Since moving up north, we just haven’t felt like we are really doing that.  We love our home but it doesn’t need alot of work.  We had investment properties when we lived in Iowa, and decided it was time to jump back in.

Right now is a great time to invest in properties for rentals.  The prices on homes are low as well as interest rates (if a loan is needed).  This is the best time to invest.

We nabbed this property below on an online auction site.  It was a foreclosure that was in amazingly good shape and very big.  It’s a four bedroom town home with a basement.  Not bad!

So, it needs new carpet in the entire place, a few new doors.

And, Oh My!!  Serious amounts of paint.  The paint job in this place was criminal.  Seriously people, so bad!!

So, we are hoping that this project will take one month and around 5k to get it into good shape so that we can start the rental process.  We love doing this.  Something for us to do and the income for the rental is my “part time job”.

  1. Chrissy – thanks for the nice comment on my blog! Glad you liked the wine trivet! I have a friend who makes them from scratch (frame and all) but this way is so much easier! I just became your newest follower, and it looks like we have something in common, I'm in the rental business too. Looking forward to reading more of your blog!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Good luck on your rental property. I would love to see what you do with it. Following you back :)
