Overnight Guest Basket

Have you ever gone on a trip and realized that you forgot something?  Or stayed with someone and needed a snack or drink in the night and just didn't feel comfortable enough going on the hunt and finding something?  This has happened to me more times than I can count.

So, while I was redecorating my guest room, I decided to put together an overnight guest basket.  I saw one over on Pinterest that was super cute.  The basket contains lots of different items that someone could easily forget or need while staying.

I added this little framed poem beside the basket so our guests knew they were welcome to use what they needed.

The little note says this:

Please Help Yourself
So happy you're here and staying with us today.
But just incase something should go astray.
Please help yourself to the contents within
Mouthwash, lotion or ibuprofen.
Use what you need, and just leave the rest
for it may be useful to some other guest!

This is an made to look old egg basket that I found at a little shop.
  I think it was perfect!

I thought that everything would be just a little cuter with some labels that I printed out and attached with some twine.

It is all sitting on the night stand.  Very cute and thoughtful for anyone who might stay.

My guest room is about finished and I can't wait to share it!!  Thanks for reading!!  Don't forget to sign up for my giveaway if you haven't!!  :)

  7. What a fun idea! Love the labels you added. Someone once told me that you should always spend the night in your guest room...that way you know exactly what is needed in the room! I think you've got it covered!

  12. That's a great idea! I like to include a toothbrush in my guest box, for it surprises me how many people forget a toothbrush! (usually my grandchildren, of course. lol) I love setting these things out for guests and having towels and cloths set out on their beds. I think it's a great way of letting them know how glad you truly are that they're staying with you.♥

  19. Hi....popping over from Gingerbread! This is such a cute idea ~ it reminded me of a time when I went to visit my sister and she had some bath salts waiting for me in her guest room. I still have them to this day! I will remember this the next time we have overnight guests! ;-)

  36. We have been doing this for some time, and try to keep a stocked basket in my linen cupboard as well as leaving a tray bedside with water, granola bars, a few pieces of fruit and snack size boxes of cereal. I'll label a few things in the fridge - 'help yourself" or "this is for _____". Leave a few dishes, glasses. cups and silverware on a tray in the kitchen along with directions for our microwave.
