I love to bake and my boys love Donuts, plus I love kitchen gadgets. So, when I saw this cute little Babycakes donut maker, I was sold. I had to find myself one and give it a try. I purchased mine at Bed Bath and Beyond, it was around $20 with a coupon that I came across. It is the easiest little cutie to use, and you don’t have to fry the donuts. Bonus!!
I was reading over at Diary of Dave’s Wife and came across her post where she made strawberry donuts and they were A-dorable!! So, strawberry was my first attempt, they are really cute and yummy!
You literally need a cake mix and the Babycakes donut maker. Plus your frosting. How easy is that?! Just follow the directions on the cake box for making the cake.
Place your cake mix into a zip loc bag to pipe it into the donut molds.
Only work with part of the mix at a time,
otherwise it is really hard to control.
Then just let them bake for about 3 minutes.
Just frost with a cream cheese frosting, a store bought will do just fine. I add a little vanilla or almond extract into the store bought frosting’s if I use them.

Hi there! I found your blog through Kim at 733 — she just designed my blog as well. Anyway, my girls got the donut maker for Christmas – and we followed the recipes included. Um. Big. Mistake. They were gross. Next time we'll do what you suggested and just use a cake mix!!
