Making Together Better

Making Together Better

Ten years from now, when you look back at this moment,

what will you remember?

Will it be those twelve loads of laundry you do every week?

Or that messy room that your son wouldn’t clean up?

Will you remember all the work you put into dinner tonight?

All these things seem to be very important to us at the time, at the moment we are in it.
But, is it really what is important?
 Making Together Better
What I think we will remember is the time we spent together, together with our kids.
I will always remember my son laughing as we played “lava floor” and jumped around the room on pillows, trying not to touch the floor or his smile at the zoo every time he spied a new animal.  I could never forget all the hugs before school in the morning and him telling me “I love you more”, right before he shuts the car door.
These things stick out in my mind because of who I was with, making it better because we were doing things together.

Would the memory be the same if I was alone jumping around on pillows or spending the day walking around the zoo alone?

It is easy to get wrapped up in daily activities that seem to be important, that you think need to be done now.  I myself am guilty of this way too much.  I think that making things “perfect” for my family will make better memories for us.   The time and effort that I put into trying to make things “perfect” actually takes time away from my kids, time that I could be enjoying with them.  Time that I could be making memories with them!

We will never be able to live a perfect life, but there will always be perfect moments in our life.  All we have to do is stop and enjoy them.

Make your time together better and remember these things:

·        Smile more; it’s the universal sign of happiness!

·        Sometimes a Hug is all you need to make you feel better!

·        Celebrate accomplishments, and the Steps that it took to get there.

·        Togetherness gives you strength to keep moving on your  Journey .

·        Laugh so you forget about the mess.

·        Life is sweeter together!
