How do you get your house ready for guests?
The main areas that I focus on, when we are having house guests:
Bathrooms
Guest Bedroom
Here are some tips that I have for getting your bathroom
”Guest Ready“!
Clean everything! I know, right?! This is how I think of it, I HATE going to a hotel where I am sure that the bathroom wasn’t really cleaned and I have to worry about getting a previous guests yuckies. I certainly don’t want my house guests to think this in my home, so clean up!
Leave out lots of towels, put them out in a cute basket or just rolled up by the tub.
Provide washcloths as well, for face washing or those quick wipe down of kiddos.
I like to make sure I have products that guest forget on hand. I leave them in bins under the sink, for easy access.
This bin has lots of products in it:
Shampoo
Conditioner
Deodorant
Contact Case
Soap
Wipes
Face Wash
This one has medications:
Pain relief
Nasal Strips
Children s pain relief
Cold Medications
I also have a tin of extra tooth brushes and tooth paste. I always forget ours!
On the bottom shelf I have a package of diapers, paper towels and some counter wipes.
When we are just having guests for dinner or for the day {instead of overnight}, we have a Powder room on the main level. Some of the same tips apply to making that “guest ready”.
Clean up! Make sure garages are dumped, mirrors are cleaned, sinks and toilets cleaned!
I know when you have a big party, having one hand towel out that gets all wet and nasty is not cool. I bought these Kleenex Hand Towels and make a cute sign for them. Then just left them on the corner of the sink for guests.
Don’t forget to provide soap and hand lotion as well as a nice smelling air freshener, just in case. :)
It feels great knowing that I am ready for guests and they will be comfortable too!
