Learn How to throw a Simple Baby Shower!

We have so many babies this year!!  All of our brothers and sisters are either expecting or had a baby in the last few months.

That means I haven’t gotten to host a couple baby showers!!  The last shower was for my brother and his wife, they had a little boy!

This shower was four my hubby’s brother and his wife, they are having a little girl!  Yeah!!  That makes two nieces and two nephews this year!!

Here is a cute photo of the Mama to be and her Mama.
I was the host, but traveling from out of state, so that put a little bit of a challenge on things.  If you can afford it, in this situation, I recommend renting a party room and have the food catered in!  It cuts out alot of stress on trying to travel with food or prepare food when you get to where you are going.

One of my good friends recommended a facility in Iowa, if you are near the Des Moines area and need a place that is cozy and inviting with some AMAZING food, I would recommend

Here is the food hall where they put all the lunch in buffet style.
I was so excited when they used their china and glasses.  I think it really made the shower feel so much more elegant with these touches.

I did the Diaper Raffle with this shower again since we had such great luck with this at my last one.  I swear by this now!  All I did was attach raffle tickets with the invitations.  Guests who brought a package of diapers were entered into a raffle for a prize.  I splurged a little and bought a Coach wristlet as the prize.  The guests were all so generous and the Mama got 15 packages of diapers!!!
These cupcakes were the hit of the party!  They were filled with a yummy cream filling!  DELICIOUS!!
My sister-in-law made this cute little Watermelon fruit buggy!  She did a fabulous job on it.
This favor was so easy!  I just purchased different shades of pink nail polishes and tied a little thank you tag on it.  I placed one at each place setting on the table.  I think it was a perfect little favor for a baby girl shower.  I found the printable HERE
Here is the adorable Mama again with all the gifts!!  I really think this shower helped them get alot of things they needed for my new niece!

My tips for throwing a simple baby shower:

If you are out of town, it is worth the money to have someone make the food for you!
Keep the games simple and quick

Favors, think about what you would want, and try to find an inexpensive way to make that into a gift

A diaper raffle is easy for guests to participate in and it is a practical gift for the parents-to-be.

Enjoy!
