Save with Walgreens #BalanceRewards Loyalty Card

When I am shopping, I try to save as much money as I can.  There are so many products that we need and use every day, I try to find the best deal to save a little cash.  Walgreens is one of those stores that I can find great deals and not just on medications.

I am already a prescription savings club member, where I receive 10% back on all Walgreens products that I purchase and now there is a Balance Rewards Loyalty Card.  I love that they are providing a way for loyal customers to save even more!  This program is launching later this month but you can pre-enroll now for your chance to win 1 million Loyalty Points.
To sign up, you just visit the Walgreens website and sign up for an account.  If you already have an account you can skip this step and go right to the Balance Rewards and Join Now.  You can see my entire enrolling and shop process on my Google+ shop.

It was so easy to join, there was just a few questions to fill out and you are on your way to earning rewards!

While I was signing up for the new Balance Rewards, I noticed the mobile app and had to check it out.  I cannot tell you how cool this is!

Here is how you can use it!  First, just download it to your phone.

This is the cool part!  Say I am running low on Advil and need to either order some of pick some up next time I am at Walgreens.

Just find the barcode on the side of the box and click the Scan option on the app.

The app will bring up your product, let you know what it costs and you can add it to your shopping list!
Just add all the products that you need and check out easily in just a couple steps.

My order was completed and within seconds I received a confirmation email that my order will be shipped!  I love this app!

Connect with Walgreens on Twitter and Facebook to learn more about their new #BalanceRewards loyalty card.  Don’t forget to get pre-enrolled for your chance to win the 1 million loyalty points!

  1. That is really cool about scanning the product and adding it to the shopping list. I'm always forgetting the little things that I need, what a great way to be sure to remember while you're at the store. Thanks for sharing!

    • I must be missing something. I don't see what the hoopla is all about. I don't have a phone with app capabilities so I have to carry around another plastic card in order to get the Walgreen's sale prices.

You can sign up online but can't get a physical card until Sunday the day the Walgreen's ads come out. So people who have no idea what is going on, won't get any sale prices until they sign up for the card. Pretty bad if you are just running in fast for one sale item. I think Sunday at walgreens will be a mess.

I can see people complaining they did not get the sale price at the checkout, then sign up for the card, while the line grows and grows. Why would Walgreens wait to sign people up on the first day that you actually need the card for purchases? It sounds stupid to me.

CVS did it bit by bit, not all at once.

  2. I love the scanning feature! It's such a time saver and a great way to stay on top of your list and never run out of anything!
