Chili with Cheese Dumplings

Fall is in the air! There’s nothing quite like it, and it’s the season I look forward to the most throughout the year.  As soon as the weather begins to cool off just a little, I start to think about football games, cozy sweaters, hot chocolate, and slow cookers full of delicious soups like chili.  There’s just nothing like walking in the door at home to the aroma of a spicy chili waiting for you.

The best is when I find new ways to make chili (or any type of recipe), and then find that my kids love it.  That’s exactly what happened with my new recipe, Chili with Cheese Dumplings. We slow cooked the chili for several hours and then added in delicious Popkoff’s Farmers Cheese Pelmeni at the end to give it a new taste and texture.  It was so good – I had to share the recipe with you!

This recipe will be on our menu many times this fall and winter, along with our favorite homemade white bread recipe and some cherry crisp for dessert. Sounds like the perfect cold weather meal.

Ingredients Make All the Difference

Popkoff’s Pelmeni with Sweet Farmer’s Cheese are soft pouches stuffed with a sweet cheese– delicious with jam and powdered sugar for a breakfast treat, added to soups, stews and chili, or a hundred other ways.

Plus, Popkoff’s has several different dumpling flavors like beef, chicken, potato and onion. I love, love, love these!  They’re great to use in place of traditional noodles in your recipes or to just eat plain. We’ve used the Popkoff’s Chicken Pelmeni in our chicken and noodle recipes and the Cheese Pelmeni in the tomato basil soup.  There’s so many different ways to use them.

Popkoff’s are 100% all-natural, so you know you’ll be feeding your family not just a delicious meal but a nutritious meal. The proteins in the dumplings are farm to table, too!

There are a lot of times that I see “healthy” or “nutritious” on a package, and I think that means it will have no flavor.  These types of food can’t be delicious if they’re nutritious, too. This is something I have built up in my head from past experiences.

That’s not the case here, though! These little Russian-inspired dumplings pack a punch when it comes to flavorful ingredients. Plus, they’re so cute, they make your recipes and meals fun to eat.  When I first saw them, I couldn’t wait to try them because of how they looked.

How to Make Chili with Cheese Dumplings

Ingredients You Need

  • 2 Cans Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 Cans Chili Beans
  • 1 Onion, Diced
  • 1 Green Pepper, Diced
  • 2 Teaspoons Chili Powder – or more if you like it spicy!
  • 1 Package of Popkoff’s Farmers Cheese Pelmeni

Instructions

Mix the diced tomatoes, chili beans, onion, pepper and chili powder together in the slow cooker and place on low for 8 hours.  Add the Popkoff ‘s Pelmeni 2 hours before it’s done cooking.  Enjoy!
