If you are like me, deep cleaning happens twice a year. Spring cleaning and Fall cleaning are the two times that I really get to business and clean the house really well. I like to do things like windows, wiping down walls, cleaning out closets and kitchen cabinets. All the things that I don’t have time to do on a monthly basis.
It can really be overwhelming when you think about cleaning ever corner, cabinet and closet of your home. There is so much to do. Here are a few tips to get the job done quickly and with little stress!
1. Don’t try to do it all at once!
If you get crazy and think that the cleaning will all get finished in one day, you’re setting yourself up to fail. Seriously. It’s going to take some time. I plan out a week of cleaning doing a couple rooms each day. Start with one room and then go on to the next.
2. Get the whole family involved!
Give everyone jobs to do, have the kids help in their rooms and get rid of toys and cloths you don’t use or need.
3. Plan supper ahead of time!
Throw easy recipes in the Crock Pot on the Fall cleaning days so that you don’t have to worry about stopping to make supper when you are in the middle of a project.
4. Be prepared!
Have all your products in one caddy together so you can transport them from room to room. Have all your cleaning products, wash cloths, garbage bags and anything else you might need with you.
One of my big chores for Fall cleaning is doing the windows. I used an awesome product from Fish Window Cleaning called Fish Foam that worked really well!
What I love most about this product is that it is drip free! That means, I don’t have product running down onto the sills and furniture while I’m cleaning windows. It stays were I spray!
Fish Foam is also ammonia-free and doesn’t leave streaks. It’s a professional grade-cleaner that you can use at home on windows, mirrors, windshields and ever sunroofs!
Ok. Here’s the embarrassing part! The window below is my basement patio door that goes into the back yard. That huge mark in the middle is a yucky cobweb. I know, it’s awful! I hadn’t cleaned these windows since spring.
Fish Window Cleaning Foam was awesome and cleaned my windows perfectly! I didn’t have any streaks on the windows and I didn’t have any run off spray that got on my carpet or anything else I wanted to avoid. I love this product! After I get finished cleaning the house, I am moving on to the vehicles.
4. Don’t Stress!
My last tip for Fall cleaning is to not stress out about it. Everything will need cleaned again in the spring and life goes on even if the house isn’t perfect!

Thank you for sharing such great tips of yours and I agree that we should let our family be involved in cleaning the house. Simple things may give great impact in the future especially for our children.
Oh gosh, prepping dinner ahead is such a great one. If I spend an afternoon cleaning, the LAST thing I want to do is start slaving over the stove. I’m a crock pot girl on cleaning days.
Love it- I’m always looking for that perfect sparkle.
