Hello there! This is Leanne from And Away We Go!!, I am happy to be back at The Taylor House to share a fun Fathers Day Craft! With Father’s Day only a few weeks away I wanted to be sure an get a head start on this kid’s craft, so that you might have some time to try it out!

My inspiration for this Father’s Day Craft came from all of the adorable Father’s Day surveys I have seen on the Internet. You know the ones; you ask your kids questions about Daddy, and record exactly what they say so that you can laugh about their silly answers for years to come! I wanted to take my own spin on this idea and record our little man’s thoughts on something that Daddy could take with him wherever he went!

I started by asking Andrew to answer the question “Why do you love Daddy?”  He is only three, so this question only got a few responses. I had to probe a little more with “What does Daddy do that you love?” and “What’s your favorite thing about Daddy?” I recorded each of his answers, in his words. Next, I cut a bunch of green rectangular cards from the paint chips I had left over from our Shamrock Mosaic craft.

On the first card I wrote “I love my Daddy because…” and then recorded each his responses on a new card.  I also used a blank card as a cover, and decorated it with a strip of washi tape. I punched a hole in each card and then gathered them on a small ring clip.

The little flip book turned out great and Andrew’s responses were priceless! It is the perfect size to add to a key ring or hang from travel bag. I know my husband will love to read through Andrew’s thoughts whenever he is on the run, wishing he was home with his favorite little guy!

Adorable Leanne! That would make such a fun little keepsake, not just for dad, but grandparents, moms, etc. Maybe you could laminate the front and back cover, and then attach a little strap or something to keep it all together. Then it wouldn’t get beat up when it’s stuck in a pocket or purse, etc. So, so cute!
