Are you looking for a great way to save time and money when it comes to meals and feeding your family? We have a great way to save money while still getting a nutritious breakfast into your family before they head out the door.

To be honest, I really wanted to be more prepared for mornings this school year.  I have to admit that there are days that my boys make it out the door without having more than a piece of toast for breakfast.

After years of my Mom using a FoodSaver® Vaccum Sealing System for everything, I decided to try the new FoodSaver® FM5000 Series Food Preservation System with the hopes that I’d be more organized and prepared in the mornings.  What I found was I was just that PLUS I was saving money!

Money Saving Tips: Freezer Smoothie Packs

I was able to make a ton of Freezer Smoothie Packs all at one time with the FoodSaver® Food Preservation System and now my freezer is full of delicious options for the kids in the morning.

What I think I love the most about these Freezer Smoothie Packs are how easy they are to make, even using the FoodSaver® Food Preseration System is as simple as pushing a couple buttons so you have a vacuum sealed bag that’s ready for the freezer or fridge.

The new Express Bag Maker on the FoodSaver® FM5000 Series Food Preservation System cuts bag making steps by 50% so that every time you lock down lower seal and cut bar, it is pre-sealing your next bag. In a matter of minutes, I was able to have a dozen smoothie packs made and ready for my kids. This is a huge Mom win!

How using my FoodSaver® Food Preservation System is helping me save money

  • Buy Fruits & Vegetables in bulk without the worry of them spoiling before you use them.  Or better yet, plant a larger garden to grow extra vegetables to freeze for the winter. Ordinary storage methods like zipper bags trap air inside, causing food to lose flavor and nutrition over time, but the FoodSaver® Food Preservation System removes air and locks out moisture to preserve food freshness and help prevent freezer burn.
  • Make larger batches of recipes – double up on your casserole and freeze the leftovers for another meal later in the week or someday when you aren’t in the mood to cook.
  • No more chips or cereal getting stale and throwing it out, by simply just resealing the bags with the FoodSaver®  Food Preservation System you’ll have fresh food up to 5 times longer, compared to traditional storage methods.
  • Plan ahead and save – like these Freezer Smoothie Packs we make ahead for the week.  This helps from stopping at the drive through or store on the way to school.
