Do you love sparkling clean car? Many people do, but they hate the work it takes to keep their car clean. Luckily, there are some car cleaning hacks perfect for keeping cars clean with less energy. If you are ready to make your car shine while still saving time and cash, take a look at these 10 car cleaning hacks you should know!
1. Make headlights shine.
You can get a nice clean shine on your headlights when you wash them with vinegar and water and dry them with a soft panty hose. It will give you the clean you need and you won’t have to deal with scratches.
2. Keep baby wipes handy.
Even if you don’t have a baby, keep baby wipes in your car for quick clean ups. They are easy and gentle on upholstery and even dashboards, and can cut through grime, spills, and other messes quickly.
3. Make your own air freshener.
Add a cup of baking soda and a few drops of essential oil into a bowl. Mix well. Place the mixture in a piece of fabric and tie closed. Keep the air freshener on the dash or tucked in a car door pocket. It will help keep the space smelling great.
4. Get off windshield grime.
A common kitchen spice called Cream of Tartar can be used to get off especially tough window grime. Just buff it on and wash clean. It will get the job done while avoiding the risk of scratches.
5. Say goodbye to bird poo.
Bird poo can be tough and nasty to remove. Get it off for good when you use a few drops of WD40. It will loosen the mess allowing you to wipe clean, and you don’t run the risk of scratching or damaging your vehicle.
6. Behold the power of club soda.
Club soda is perfect for getting stains out of upholstery. Use it just as you would on carpets or furniture. Add a few drops, allow it to sit, and then gently blot until the stain is removed. It is powerful yet gentle on your fabrics.
7. Â Keep a lint roller on hand.
Keep a lint roller in your glove compartment to pick up quick crumbs and other dry messes. Just a swipe over the upholstery will do the trick.
8. Don’t toss those shirt boxes.
Shirt boxes and other cardboard squares are great to keep in the trunk when muddy feet threaten the carpeting. Just slide the squares over the car mat to collect mud, water, and dirt. Toss when done.
9. Make a mini trash can.
A baby wipes container makes an excellent mini trash can. Push trash in and even if the box falls over and rolls around the trash won’t fall out. Kids can even decorate the container if they wish.
