Avocado Hair Mask and Face Mask Recipes

March 27, 2013   |   12 Comments

This Avocado Oil For Skin Care post is brought to you by One2One Network and Avocados from Mexico. All opinions stated are my own.

Did you know of all the amazing uses there are for avocado’s?  I know, when I first think of them, I think Guacamole or Avocado on my salad.  These are both great uses for today I want to share some other ideas that I have for you.

Using Avocado for Spa Recipes

Avocados have a high amount of vitamins, fatty acids and antioxidants.  One of the vitamins found in an avocado is Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant and helps slow the signs of aging. The oils in an avocado can also act as a moisturizer, making your skin feel soft and smooth.  Do you have age spots?  Avocados also help your skin produce more collagen and reduce those age spots.

I used one avocado and a few kitchen ingredients to make myself an Avocado Hair Mark and an Avocado Face Mask. They were very easy and made me feel wonderful.

Avocado Hair Mask Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Smashed Avocado
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 1 egg
  • 2 TBSP Olive Oil

Directions

Remove the skin from one Avocado and add 1/2 of it into a blender.  Add 1/2 banana, 1 egg and 2 TBSP Olive Oil to the blender and blend until you have a smooth consistency.  Apply to Dry hair and leave on 15-30 minutes.  Rinse with cool water ( warm or hot will cook the egg).

Here is what my hair looked like after I had an Avocado Hair Mask treatment.  I was amazed at how soft and smooth it was with just one treatment.  I know that I have spent way too much for this type of service at my salon, but I can do it at home now for a fraction of the cost.

Avocado Face Mask Recipe

1/2 ripe avocado
1 whole egg
1 Tbsp Greek yogurt
1 tsp baking soda

Combine all ingredients in blender and process for 30 seconds. Apply immediately to clean skin. Leave on 5-10 minutes until you feel mask start to tighten and dry. Rinse with warm water. Gently dry face and apply daily face moisturizer to damp skin.
