I cannot believe my little guy is headed to 3rd grade this year, if feels like it was just yesterday that I was dropping him off for his first day of kindergarten. Not only is he getting older but he’s developing his own taste and sense of style.
We started our Back to School Shopping and I was quickly surprised by his involvement and how cute what he picked out, ended up looking when he tried it on and I realized that my 8 year old has some great style tips for boys that I could share with you!
Back to School Style Tips for Boys
Find the Perfect outfit for the first day or school or those school pictures! Remember, it doesn’t have to be a shirt and tie to look adorable. Find the perfect denim in their favorite wash and pair it with a t-shirt and button up that’s left open.
This is my favorite outfit that he picked out, it’s adorable and can be dressy or casual depending on what you need it for.
It’s Minnesota, be sure to wear layers! A pair of khaki cargo pants that you pair with a fun t-shirt is the perfect school day outfit, and layering a simple zip up jacket makes it great through the fall months too.
I have to admit, I was a little bit unsure about this next outfit but my son was not. He had a plan for the cute blue shorts, button up shirt with some shades and an adorable hat.
He can’t wear the hat and shades to school but they totally made the outfit amazing and we had to include them in our purchases! Every Little Thing is a Really Big Deal!
Casual sport shorts with a bright hoodie, this is what he will wear to school 50% of the time. I would have picked a black hoodie for him but he loved this bright yellow and after we got it home and he’s worn it around, I had to agree that it was the better choice!
The best part about his entire back to school wardrobe is that we got it all at Target! That’s right, everything! Not only did we pick up all the school supplies but the clothes too, without having to go to any other store. I love that!
If you’re starting back to school shopping with your kids be sure to check out the amazing selection and deals at Target, you can also find some inspiration on their Back To School Pinterest Board before you head out shopping.
I can’t wait to hear about what your kids picked out and their amazing style! I wonder if it will surprise you as much as my son’s did.
