Back To School Guide #MomsGuide

July 26, 2012   |   6 Comments

It’s that time of year again!
The first day of school is just around the corner.
Are there any special back to school traditions that you have with your kids?
One tradition that we have with our kids is back to school shopping!  My boys LOVE picking out their new school supplies, I think their favorite part is the cool folders!  This year we purchased some extra supplies and donated them to one of our favorite teachers!  I loved this project and we will start this tradition every year now!

We also spend a day shopping for new school clothes.  It seems like every summer they grow like weeds, so by the time school rolls around, they are in need of new!  I am always on the look out for good deals and stylish fashions for them, but so many times, I end up finding great clothes for myself too!

Here are some other ideas for Back to School Fun:
* School Supply Shopping
*Makeover with new Back to school clothes
* Last days of Summer photo shoot
* Spend a craft day making labels for supplies
* Make a Lunch menu for taking home lunch to school
* Plan a special breakfast for the First Day of School
* One last late night movie and snacks with the family

What are your traditions?  I would love to hear them!

Here is a really cool Back to School Guide that puts all the information that you are looking for into one place.  Do you want clothing ideas for kids or yourself?  Or are you looking for some School supply information?  You can find ideas for lunches as well! I think having a Back to School Guide is a great idea!  You can find new brands, products and deals all in one place!

I only have one child in school… so this year we are leaving my youngest at home with a babysitter and spending an afternoon doing things my oldest wants to do. His list begins with lunch at his favorite place, rent a movie for a later movie night, visit a kids musuem, ice cream, and finish off the day with an hour at the pool. He calls it his last weekday of freedom:)

Unfortunately his school supplies list does not allow for unique folders or supplies. Everything purchased is solid colored and plain (sad for me since I love funky school supplies). We spice things up a bit by purchasing stickers and decorating the inside of the folders with those along with metallic pens and markers. WE also pick out a new pin or key chain for his backpack every year. He has had the same one since school began…

    Happy School Year everyone~

That is a great idea! Decorating the inside of the folders when they won't let you have funky ones! I LOVE it!

My boys don't need any clothes, but I'll probably let them choose one or two outfits to make it special.

There are so many cool folders to choose from. I picked out some of my son's basic school supplies but I am leaving the folder picking up to him!

We let the kids pick out their first day of school outfit. It is always fun to see what they pick!
