The Iowa weather is finally starting to warm up and that means camping season is right around the corner.  We’re working on getting a camper so that we can start traveling around Iowa and surrounding states for weekend trips with our kids.  I used to do this with my family growing up so I’m supper excited to start the tradition with my boys.

One thing about camping though, the food you make isn’t the same as at home.  Well, maybe it’s the same food but you make it a different way.  A lot of times you make everything over the campfire because you either don’t have a store top and oven in your camper or it’s too darn hot out to use it.

We found some of the best camping recipes to share with you today.  These are not just delicious but they’re going to be fun to make too!

Thanks for sharing! Can;t wait to try the Campfire Cresent Dogs. 🙂 How do you manage to make such sophisticated and yummy things on a camping trip? Seems the classic steak or Brats I usually go for while camping are the easy and lazy (but still yummy) way out.

This looks sumptuous and seems like need to have the entire kitchen to prep it yet it actually works outside!

Thank you for sharing all these great recipes. We bought a teardrop camper last year and are hoping to take it out at least once a month. So I can definitely use recipe ideas for our camping trips. I bet my kids will love the dutch oven pizza 🙂
