Have you ever tried making syrup in different flavors? My Mom made a Raspberry syrup that was to die for last summer and it got me thinking that there are so many fruits that I love that would make a delicious fruit syrup.
Last week I had a bunch of blueberries that I needed to use so I put together a Blueberry French Toast bake and a Blueberry Syrup. Today I have the Blueberry Syrup recipe to share with you and the french toast recipe will be coming next week!
This was so easy to make, it literally took four ingredients and one of them was water. You can’t beat that!
How to make Blueberry Syrup
Ingredients You Need
5 Cups of Blueberries
1 Cup of Water
1 Cup of Sugar
2 Tablespoons of Corn Starch
Instructions
Step 1 – In a small saucepan, combine cold water, corn starch and sugar. Heat mixture and bring to a simmer.
Step 2 – Add blueberries and continue simmering for 10 minutes.
How easy is that?! So simple to make!
My Mom made a lot of her Raspberry Syrup so she ended up canning hers to use on ice cream, pancakes and all those yummy things! My recipe for the blueberry syrup only made enough for one mason jar full. So, we’ve already used ours! It was delicious!
