My Review
There are so many things about this book that I love and find incredibly helpful for cooking with young children.
The very first thing I noticed about this book is that it is extremely colorful and full of pictures to really get kids attention and keep them interested in the book themselves. I gave Young Chefs to my 7 year old boy and had him look through it, he is going into 2nd grade so has pretty good ready skills. He was able to find a recipe that looked delicious that he wanted to try and read the recipe to me.
He was so interested in the Did You Know and Science area at the end of the recipes, where he learned about which chickens lay white eggs and how to tell if an egg is hard boiled. I love how this book gets kids involved and learning in so many different ways.
Another part of Young Chefs that I love is the How-to’s section where kids can learn how everything from measuring dry ingredients to taking food out of the oven. These are basic skills that are some of the first things you need to learn when you are trying to find your way around a kitchen.
There are also six recipe sections full of kid friendly and unique recipes that they will love! You can find recipes on color coded pages for the following
