Worlds Toughest Job – I’m a Mom

If you told me before I had kids that being a Mom would be the toughest yet most rewarding  job I ever had, I’m pretty sure I would have thought you were crazy.

I worked for a pediatrician, I saw Mom’s and kids coming in and out of the office all day long.  I saw the fights, the tears, the arguments, the sick kids, the frazzled parents and I judged, oh yes I did.

I thought when I became a Mom, it would be different.  My kids would be well behaved and know how to act in public, they wouldn’t be crying when they were sick, oh no, mine would be angels.

Then I had my boys, and God bless em, they have done everything in their power to prove me wrong.  Not intentionally, but I had a very rude awakening with the colic, tantrums, tears, and all those things I thought my kids would never do.

Motherhood is really one of the toughest jobs there is.  Period.

But, try and find a more rewarding job!  Can you think of one job where you are going to create and affect one person’s life as much as you do as a Mom?  I can’t.  Even though it’s tough staying up all night long with a sick baby or trying to be patient while potty training, helping with homework;  I wouldn’t change a thing.  The moments when those little boys answer I love you with “I love you more”, priceless.

This Mother’s Day, Cardstore, the popular custom greeting card website from American Greetings is encouraging people to take those extra steps to celebrate Mom, Grandma, Aunts, etc.  Why not make it more than a phone call or text message this year?  Find that perfectly personalized card that enables you to take a minute and reflect on all the extraordinary things they’ve done!

Cardstore.com allows you to create a custom card by adding personal photos, messaging and your signature.  Then, Cardstore with print, stamp and mail the card for you!  I love this!

You can see the card that we created for my boys Grandma below.  I was able to grab one of our family photos that was taken at their Grandparents farm and stick it in a card to create a personalized gift.  How cute is that?

If you want to create your own Cardstore cards this Mother’s Day, we have a COUPON CODE to help save!  You can pick up personalized Mother’s day cards for $2.49 (instead of $3.69) using the Code CCF4249., This code is good April 24- May 5 so get your orders in now!

American Greetings created a job posting for a company, Rethom Inc. (“Mother” spelled backwards), based on everything moms do under the title ‘Director of Operations’ and placed it across 27 markets through job postings, 14 market newspaper classified ads and 2 Google sponsored ad units, resulting in 2.7MM impressions. The job description outlined all of the tasks of a mother without revealing the job was indeed a mom. In the end, Cardstore only had 24 inquiries – thereby proving that being a mom is the world’s toughest (but most rewarding) job.
