Christmas Activity: Holiday Pom Pom Counting Activity

November 30, 2013   |   Leave a Comment

We have a a fun idea for Christmas party activities for kids or a learning unit for preschoolers.  I know that when I helped in my boys classrooms, I was always looking for party ideas that would be fun and educational around the Holiday theme.  These are great ideas!

This is a fun preschool activity for preschoolers. They can practice their counting while working with their fine motor skills.

The kids take turns picking a card with a number. Using the tongs they pick up that number of pom pom and put them in the bucket.  You could make it more of a game and see how fast they can this, just be sure to give them enough Pom Pom’s for every number.

Such an easy activity to do but they will learn numbers and motor skills all in one plus you are relating it with the Holidays!

How to Make Christmas Party Activities for Kids like this

Materials

  • Pom Pom’s
  • Tongs
  • Bucket
  • Printable Number Sheet

Instructions

Print out our Printable Number sheet and cut the numbers apart

Have the kids pick a number card and then pick up that number of pom pom’s with the tongs and place in the bucket.

This may seem like a simple activity but it teachers so much to those younger kids and they will love it.  It’s a challenge that they can do plus learning activities that are also a game are the best types!
