Command Center for Organizing School Papers

August 23, 2013   |   2 Comments

Today’s post is brought to you by Jessica from Prairie Girl to Southern Belle.  I am loving how simple and organized her back to school command center looks to make and use!  I am taking some of her tips and using them on my own station.
Hi there! My kiddos started school this week. I have been wanting to create a command center to corral the papers and calendars that can so quickly overwhelm a mom. I finished it this weekend and can’t wait to show you!
Back to school
First off, I apologize for the bad lighting in these pictures. I set my command center up in the laundry room. It’s at the end of a hallway and has no windows. It really isn’t that yellow in there. The colors are really very clean and calm looking….Really, I swear!
Take a peek!

The table is a roadside rescue.
Back to school
I found the hanging file holder at Home Goods a while back. Don’t you just love that store?!
Each spot (one for each kid) has two folders. One marked ‘action’ for things that need my attention and the other marked ‘information’ for things like handbooks and class information. The idea for these two folders came from I Heart Organizing a couple of years back.
There is also a clothes pin to hook on little notes or reminders that might get missed. You can read about how I made these here.

Here’s to an organized and happy school year!

Stop by the blog or on my Facebook page and let me know if you try it! I’d love to hear how it turned out for you!
