DIY Cranberry Face Scrub

November 30, 2016   |   Leave a Comment

Winter winds, holiday makeup , heavy foods, scratchy woolen sweaters all take a toll on our skin. A little pampering can get you back on the right track, giving you glowing, moisturized, and healthy skin.

This Cranberry Face Scrub is loaded up with antioxidants and other benefits that will give you back that beautiful glow. It is made mostly with items from your pantry and an essential oil that has been known for centuries as promoting youthful skin and also treating acne.

Did I mention that it smells incredible? The scents of the holidays will act as a great aromatherapy and help to lift your spirits as well.

DIY Cranberry Face Scrub

Ingredients:

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup fresh cranberries

2 tsp.  coconut oil

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

8-10 drops Frankincense essential oil

DIY Cranberry Face Scrub

Directions:

Place cranberries in a blender, food processor, or you can use a coffee grinder like I have  for my diy beauty recipes. Process until the cranberries are in very small pieces.

Combine sugar, cinnamon, pureed cranberries, coconut oil, vanilla, and 8-10 drops frankincense essential oil in a large bowl until well mixed.

Transfer mixture to a container with a tight fitting lid, a small mason jar is ideally sized and it looks pretty sitting on your bathroom counter too.

To use:

Gently massage scrub into wet skin, rinse clean, and pat dry.

Follow up with a light moisturizer.

Repeat scrub 1-2 times per week.

Here is a breakdown about what each of the ingredients brings to this face scrub…

Coconut oil-moisturizing, anti-aging, antibacterial

Cranberries- Antioxidents,vitamin B and C

Frankincense-Heals cuts, reduce and fade scaring, anti-aging

Sugar- Exfoliation

It makes a great gift for yourself and others this holiday season so make up a double batch so you have plenty to keep and share as well.
