Crock Pot Recipes: Tater Tot Casserole

September 24, 2013   |   6 Comments

Can you remember certain and specific recipes from growing up?  Where there things that your Mom would make that you remember having?  I can remember my Mom making homemade Mac & Cheese, Goulash, Tater Tot Casserole and a couple other easy recipes that I even make myself now as an adult.

Tater Tot Casserole was one of the meals I remember and to be honest with you, I hated it.  I never enjoyed this meal growing up but now that I am older, I love it.  Maybe I have learned to like it or maybe I have found a different version that I like better, I’m not sure but either way, it’s a meal I love to make.

Today I have a really easy Tater Tot Casserole recipe that you can make in the Crock pot.  Crock pot recipes, are my favorite and you can make almost any recipe into a Crock pot version by changing things a little bit.

Easy Recipes, Crockpot Recipes, Tater Tot Casserole

How to make Crock pot Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound of Ground Beef
  • 1 small diced onion
  • 1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 cups of Shredded Cheese
  • 1 Package of Tater Tot’s (I get the seasoned Tot’s)

Instructions

Step 1 – I cook my burger and onion in the skillet before I put it in the Crock pot, but I know others who put it in raw and let it cook there.

Step 2 – Grease the bottom of the Crock pot and layer in your Tater Tot’s

Step 3 – Mix together the Burger, Cream of Mushroom, Milk and Cheese and pour over top of the Tater Tot’s.

Step 4 – I toss about a cup of cheese on top of the Hamburger mixture.

Step 5 – Cook on low for about 2-3 hours.

If you want to make this with a little more kick, adding a can of Rotel into the hamburger mix is really delicious too!
