Last week I had the amazing privilege of talking to Nate Berkus! I’m not sure if you guys remember but last year I actually shopped with him in Dallas thanks to LG and he gave me some advice on my my new kitchen at the time. So to be able to follow up with him after he saw photos of it was AMAZING.
I feel like he had some great advice that would help a lot of people when it comes to decorating and I wanted to share it with you! I love the way that he didn’t make me feel like my space was beautiful but with a couple changes we could really warm it up and make it a little more cozy – which is what I was after.
Paint Color – The Walls in my kitchen are actually a light grey, but appear white to most people. I was worried about using a darker color on the walls but Nate said to go a couple shades darker. Especially with the white cabinets. This is a great way to contrast the white cabinets with the walls.
Add Baskets & Cutting Boards – Bring in some textures to the room with a few baskets in the corners or even lean a couple cutting boards up against the wall. I LOVE this idea and we created this little basket next to the stove with a few boards, utensils, Olive Oil and more. Not only is it cute but it keeps everything really organized too.
The Appliances – If you’re at the beginning stages of renovating or building a house think about your appliances and how they will make the house feel. LG along with Nate Berkus has a new Black Stainless Studio line that really gives your kitchen a warmer feel. Plus, it’s a look that will be timeless in your home. Here’s the details!
The most impressive piece of the LG STUDIO appliances is the refrigerator’s cutting-edge model featuring LG’s pioneering InstaView™ technology, with it’s sleek glass front panel that illuminates with two quick taps to allow the user to look inside without opening the door. This saves time and energy!
As a Mom, I love that it’s also smudge resistant! That means with all those times that my teenagers open those doors to get food – they won’t be leaving marks to clean up!
Just look at these beautiful appliances!
Be sure to check back later this month when I share Nate’s tips he had for me when it comes to decorating my kitchen for Christmas!
