DIY Candle Crafts

December 17, 2014   |   1 Comment

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Staples.

Recently I was asked to take the Staples #HandmadeHolidays Craft Challenge where I could create a new craft using anything from their store.  As most of you know, I’m more of a baker than a crafter so I actually was a little panicked with this project.  It’s very easy for me to come up with a new way to make a pasta dish but not as easy to think of a Holiday Craft.

For today’s crafts I decided I would keep it simple, Christmas is only a couple weeks away and most of us are looking for easy crafts to make at this point.  I made three different DIY Candle Crafts using Tea Light Candles I picked up from Staples.  Check out how a Food Blogger like myself can still make adorable Christmas Crafts with the help of Staples!

Package of Tea Lights from Staples

Christmas Sprinkles

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees

Place six tea lights on a cookie sheet lined with Parchment paper

Stick the Tea Lights in the oven for about 5 minutes or until the wax is melted

Next, sprinkle the top with the Sprinkles while the wax is melted

Let it dry and harden back up with the spinkles in the candle

These would be really cute for a birthday too – just use different colored sprinkles!

How to Make Washi Tape Tea Candles

Materials You Need

Tea Light Candles from Staples

Washi Tape – there is a HUGE selection of colors at Staples!

Instructions

Pick the Washi Tape color you want to use and cut a piece that will wrap all the way around the Tea Light Candle

Place the tape on the candle and be sure to press it firmly

If it is wider than you need, simply fold the rest under onto the bottom of the candle.

I stuck a few into a Plastic Cello Bag and added some Bakers Twine to make a little gift with a couple that I made.   It turned out adorable!

This makes your home smell amazing!  I have one near me when I’m working and it is heavenly!

These were all so simple to make but every one of them is really adorable!  I’m loving all the new ways I can use products that I hadn’t thought of, thanks to Staples for getting the creative juices flowing for the Holiday season!
