Easy Easter Cross Craft Project
Â
A while back our church had a craft night. We embellished ceramic crosses and with Easter just around the corner, I thought it might be fun to share them with you!
Â
We started with a plain cross. It wasn’t glazed or anything like that, just ready for fun.Â
Â
I wanted something simple and clean looking, so I grabbed some sheet music and traced the cross, cut it out, and used a thin layer of Modge Podge to glue it to the cross. After it had set for a couple of minutes, I grabbed a Sharpie and wrote a word with some details around it. My writing isn’t perfect but that’s ok. I would recommend using a fine point marker to do your detailing. I just used what was available.
Â
Next, I took some sandpaper and quickly sanded the edges of the paper to give it a softer look. Holding the cross in your hand, come down on the edge from above with the sand paper (not back and forth) so you don’t take off more than you want to.
Â
Come back to the edges and corners with a distressing ink pad. This one is my favorite. When you like what you have, seal it with thin coat of Modge Podge and add some twine for hanging.
There you go! A simple, beautiful gift to give.
