Elf On The Shelf: Taking A Nap

The Elf On The Shelf is a tradition that we started in our home last year.  My boys are a bit older so this may be our last year having Fred the Elf visit, but we’ll see.

My boys named our Elf, Fred, and we have been finding Fred all over the house doing different things.  This morning we found him napping in the Kleenex box, he must have been tired after flying to the North Pole.

Elf on the Shelf, Elf On The Shelf Napping

If the Elf On The Shelf is new to you, let me explain how it works. The Elf typically arrives at your house the first day of December, or you can start whenever you want really.  He or She comes with a little book to read to your kids and explain to them that the Elf will be watching them all month and every night when they are asleep they will fly back to the North Pole and report to Santa on the kids behavior.

That means if they have been super helpful that day or well behaved, Santa knows about it.  But, if they have been naughty, Santa knows about that too.  Also, the kids are not allowed to touch the Elf or he will loose his magic, so he has to stay where he is all day.

We have a fun Elf On The Shelf Pinterest board where you can find more ideas and watch for more posts coming this month with where Fred ends up.

You can pick up your own Elf On The Shelf at Target and many other stores or just order it online.  You still have plenty of time this year so start tonight!

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see where Fred ends up!
