“I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Lay’s. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.”
Getting Creative in the kitchen can be a thing of beauty! I absolutely love when I’m hit with an idea for a meal or recipe and it turns out that entire family loves it! Whether it’s a new cookie, muffin or an entire meal, I can’t help but smile when the recipe works!
The most recent meal that we ended up loving is actually something I made with left overs and a few ingredients I had on hand. It wasn’t anything fancy but it turned out to be delicious! Our Taco Tater Tot Casserole was a combination of left over Taco meat with half a bag of tater tots that I had left in the freezer. Seriously, how much easier can a meal get and it ended up being one of our favorite meals that will be made over and over again!
I also love getting my kids involved in the kitchen, it’s a great time to be able to talk and enjoy each others company. Plus, they can let their creative side out by trying to come up with new ideas for recipes. My little guy helped me make a Protein Smoothie for Kids a few weeks ago and had a lot of advice on what I should and should not put in it. It was so much fun and the smoothie turned out great!
One of my favorite meals that I’ve made recently is our Garlic Butter Shrimp Quinoa dish, It was one of those recipes that I wasn’t sure how it would turn out but I kept plugging along and adding ingredients until I had that, Oh this is delicious moment. If you have never tried Quinoa, seriously consider making this recipe, it will knock your socks off!
Could you imagine any of your favorite meals as a chip flavor? Maybe the Taco Tater Tot Casserole? Yum, that could be pretty darn good! I am sure that many of you have some amazing family meals that would make an awesome new chip flavor!
The Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” contest invites fans nationwide to submit their ideas for the next great Lay’s potato chip flavor for the chance to win a $1 million grand prize. A judging panel made up of chefs, foodies and flavor experts will narrow down the contest submissions to four finalist flavors. The four finalist flavors will then be fully developed by Frito-Lay’s culinary experts and unveiled in summer 2014 and sold nationwide. From there, it will be up to fans to vote for the finalist flavor they want to see stay on store shelves, and the finalist behind the winning flavor will take home the million dollar grand prize.
New this year, fans are able to choose from three potato chip forms – Lay’s Original, Lay’s Kettle Cooked and/or Lay’s Wavy – for their flavor ideas.
