Five Reasons to Visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

January 16, 2018   |   Leave a Comment

Let go of all the rumors you’ve ever heard about visiting Mexico because it’s fabulous in so many ways. Mexico is home to some of the most amazing areas to venture to if you get the chance.

Puerto Vallarta, for example, has become quite the touristy area. The crime rate is low and there are many awesome beaches to check out while you are there. These are not the only reasons to head south to warmer weather.

Here are five reasons to make your trip to Puerto Vallarta worthwhile. Make sure you check out our post about Cabo San Lucas too if you’re looking for other Mexico Vacation ideas!

Five Reasons to Visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

#1. Los Arcos Marine Park – You Need to Visit this Park!

Los Arcos Marine Park is known for the gorgeous granite rock islands that pop up out of the water. You can even spot them from downtown Puerto Vallarta. Many take boat tours around the rocks and through the naturally occurring rock arches. Join other adventurous folk who even snorkel the area.  Pending the day, you can see a variety of sea creatures swimming around, including mantas, turtles, and brightly colored fish.

#2. Marietas Islands – A Must Experience!

There are many boat tours that you can take from Puerto Vallarta to get to these astounding Marietas Islands. On your way, there is always the possibility of dolphin sightings, as they jump up out of the water. What’s special about these islands, is the hidden beach, Playa Del Amor. It is the only beach visitors are allowed to step foot on, as the rest are protected. The beach is actually part of a gaping hole on the island, pure beauty.

#3. Spend time in Malecon

Malecon is the most popular city to visit in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The city is seaside, so it offers many great views of the ocean, at all times. The walkway is full of vendors and street artists, not to mention great places to eat. At night is when the city really comes alive at the various bars and restaurants.

#4. You’ll Love Relaxing on Los Muertos Beach

It is no wonder why this one mile Long Beach is a hot spot, when visiting Puerto Vallarta. It is just a short walk from Malecon! While you may be hesitant to head out to a beach that’s name translates to “Deadman’s Beach,” fear not. The name simply comes from bones that were dug up there in the past, as it used to serve as a cemetery, long, long ago!

#5. Get Crazy with a Canopy River Zipline Tour

Are you an adrenaline junky? If so, this is definitely a place to visit. There are 12 different zip lines that you can ride down through the ancient forest. But that is not all you can do here. You can also ride ATVs, and even go on donkey tours!

As you can see, a lot of adventure awaits you in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. When are you heading here? Let’s go!
