I had the privilege of spending a couple days in South Walton, Florida at the amazing Hilton SanDestin Gold Resort & Spa last week with my youngest son. To say that we had an amazing time would be a serious understatement and I had to share the trip with you. I know so many of you Mom’s out there are always looking for a great vacation destination and this is the place to go because of the sandy white beaches, the turquoise water, amazing food and wonderful hotel amenities! Five of Our Favorite Things to Do at Hilton SanDestin
The Beach & Ocean
Of course the beach and the ocean was our favorite part of visiting Hilton SanDestin! I mean just look at this view! It was amazing! You’re going to love your time at the pool and the beach while you’re at Hilton SanDestin.
There are three pools at the Hilton SanDestin and they have the only indoor pool in South Walton! Even though it was beautiful outside, we took advantage of the indoor pool on one the the cooler nights.
Serenity Spa
I was thrilled to spend a morning at Serenity Spa where I had an amazing Hot Stone Massage, Jacuzzi time, lunch and more. Not only did I have one of the best massages ever but it was a perfect way to relax and unwind while my son was at Kid’s Krew!
Serenity by the sea’s tranquil and elegant spa facilities comprise separate, private men’s and women’s areas, where you can take advantage of whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms, lounges, lockers, beauty products, ultra-luxe double-layer, microfiber robes and slippers, plus a selection of fresh juices, teas and healthy snacks. These amenities are complimentary for those purchasing a spa treatment on the day of the treatment. We suggest you arrive early in order to experience all of them so you can be extra relaxed for your treatment.
Kids Krew
My son had the chance to experience the Kids Krew first hand while I was at the Seremnity Spa! He had a sandcastle contest on the beach, a scavenger hunt, lots of crafts and DIY projects! The kids had so much fun with activities and new friends without Mom and Dad, my son told me he wanted to come back just for the Kid’s Krew!

The kids’ programs allow parents to truly relax, knowing their children are in the capable, experienced hands of our Kids Krew Staff. The hours of the day and night programs allow parents time to enjoy our resort’s adult-friendly offerings, like our award-winning, championship golf, full-service spa, the AAA Four-Diamond Seagar’s Prime Steaks and Seafood Restaurant, and bars and lounges. The Food
I’m thrilled to tell you about the amazing food at Hilton SanDestin, being a food blogger this was a pretty big deal to me. I love that they have an onsite Pastry Chef who comes in every single day to make the amazing breakfast items that we got to enjoy!
There are four different restaurant options at Hilton SanDestin:
Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill: One of the most popular dining spots at the resort, this restaurant overlooks our stunning beach, with its bright white sand and emerald green water. It’s also a place guests can comfortably enjoy while barefoot. Barefoot’s is housed in a large, open-air space with both outdoor and covered seating. It’s located adjacent to the resort’s two outdoor pools as well as to the beachfront sunbathing deck. Barefoot’s offers an amazing, unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico, friendly service and a festive atmosphere.
Hadashi Sushi Bar: Hadashi showcases the inventive and delicious creations of Sushi Chef Shuji Amano, who has been with the sushi bar since it opened well over a decade ago. Amano prepares guests’ selections in front of them, and many enjoy watching Amano construct his famous Love Boat of sushi – an eye-catching creation comprised of a wooden boat filled with multicolored sashimi, nigiri, rolls and accompaniments, all arranged artistically and beautifully.
Sandcastles Restaurant and Lounge: Located off the resort lobby, Sandcastle’s is the one restaurant at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa where guests can go for every meal, plus late-night snacks in the Lounge. Called an “American Family Bistro,” Sandcastles is bright, airy and welcoming. It offers a la carte breakfast, breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner and lounge menus. Each morning Sandcastle‘s offers an enormous buffet, as well as a full breakfast menu. Lunch options include gourmet salads, sandwiches, wraps and soups. Dinner choices include steaks and plenty of fresh local seafood and shellfish dishes.
Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood: Destin’s only – and Northwest Florida’s first – AAA Four-Diamond restaurant. Seagar’s presents fresh seafood dishes and steaks rated USDA Prime Black Diamond (the highest designation the U.S. government gives) in an elegant, romantic and intimate setting. The 600-label wine list here has won the “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine for 10 consecutive years.
Relaxation
One thing we loved about Hilton SanDestin was the rooms! You have got to see the Deluxe Junior Suites that we stayed it! They were so spacious and perfect for a family with kids because there’s a set of bunk beds with it’s own media center. Seriously! How does it get any better than this? 
Another activity that my son and I got to enjoy was an awesome bike ride. The path winds for miles throughout the resort and even tunnels beneath the highway so you can safely explore the bay side of our property. Ask the concierge to arrange bike rentals.
