Friends with Beneful

June 6, 2016   |   20 Comments

I’m thrilled to have partnered with Beneful to bring you this post.

Friends with Beneful Immersion Event

Last month I had the privilege of visiting the Purina headquarters in St. Louis and learning about the company and my fluffy babies favorite dog food, Beneful. If you’re a dog owner, you know that it’s just as important what we feed our furry friends as what we eat ourselves so this trip was not just fun but full of information that helped me to understand what I was giving my pup every day.

The Purina headquarters is located in the downtown area of St. Louis, we stayed at an amazing hotel, Hilton at the Ballpark, which is located just steps across the street from Busch Stadium.  Looking out my room window, I could not just see the stadium but the beautiful Purina building as well – getting in the first night to see these sites was extremely exciting!!

It was so much fun heading to the Purina headquarters with several other bloggers for a day full of Beneful.  What I quickly learned when we arrived, is that Beneful is more than a dog food.  Beneful is people, full of passion about what they do and the product that they put out. It’s not just a big company, it’s more and after a day spent learning and being a part of their brand – I feel part of them and understand their message.

Walking into the conference room, we were greeted with not just smiling happy people, but pets too! That’s right, what else would you expect at a company that strives to make Dog’s lives better, you’re able to bring your dog to work with you.  We met several furry friends along with the Beneful team. Who wouldn’t want to work at a place like this?

Seeing the effort they put into the details of the event, like these adorable Caricatures, made it that more more clear what the brand was all about and the effort that they likely put into everything. Isn’t this the cutest little photo of Lily? She doesn’t always wear a hat around, this was his costume from Halloween! After we got home, I framed her pictures and it’s hanging just over her food and water bowls.  It was the perfect spot for it!

One of the messages that really stuck with me from the day was the TALL goals and message that Purina has for themselves and their employees. William H. Danforth, who started Purina, was an inspiration to all his employees, he wanted them to strive to be great today and better than yesterday.  The employees would come in and find messages of inspiration on their desks – that Mr. Danforth left himself and to this day the company frequently sends out email blasts to the the company with messages to encourage and inspire.

We were spoiled by the Purina chef for lunch, I know what you’re thinking – Purina has a chef for people? YES!  They do and let me tell you, this girl can cook! Our multi course lunch was nothing short of amazing and extremely filling! This was one of my favorite parts of the trip – you guys know me – it’s all about the food!

The second day of our immersion event was a day to get our hands dirty and help out.  Purina is all about helping the community and it really showed when we had the chance to help create an amazing space for dogs and owners to enjoy at Frenchtown Dog Park in St. Louis. Purina coordinated a full day of volunteers cleaning  and landscaping at the park.  It felt really good to be involved and help make this park shine. This was my favorite part of the trip, I love that they included it in our event and I wish that every single trip that I went on with brands had an opportunity for us to be personally involved and help the community. It’s something that I’ll always remember.

Purina is matching dollar for dollar up to $7500 through the end of June! How amazing is that?! You can find info on starting a park in your own neck of the woods- and your #DreamDogPark just may be supported by the folks at Beneful one day!

Overall, the trip was nothing short of inspiring, informative and made me want to rush home and spoil my furry friend!

Thanks, Beneful for making a lasting impression and making me want to strive to do better and be better!

This is amazing. I don’t have a pet so I don’t know much about the brand but thanks for educating me on this one.

As a mom, I am always concerned with the food my kids are eating. I have three fur babies and I probably should be more focused on what they are eating too. I’m just worried about making the switch. My dogs seem to have sensitive stomachs.
