Helping Provide a Sweet Future for Kids #SweetFuture

April 20, 2016   |   Leave a Comment

I can’t imagine the thought of not having enough food for my kids, I feel incredibly blessed to not ever have this weigh on my mind.  Thinking about children in other parts of the world that struggle to have meals every day is not just heart breaking but hard to even comprehend.

I often wonder, what can I do to help.  I’m a world away and feel like my efforts probably won’t make a huge difference. What I’ve found though, is that I AM able to help by simply supporting and buying the brands that I love, like Truvia®!

World Food Day

Truvia® joined with the World Food Programme on World Food Day in 2012 to launch it’s Sharing a Sweet Future campaign and now it’s still going strong in it’s third year.  Nearly $1 million in contributions from the Truvia® brand has been used to help develop sustainable communities in Bolivia.  Bolivia is a region of critical need with one of the highest rates of nutritional deficiencies in South America.

Helping the Children

With its “Sharing a Sweet Future” program, the Truvia® brand set a goal to help establish self-sufficient communities, by equipping Bolivians with better means to achieve nutrition.

This means that they have been able to purchase and install energy-efficient and cleaner-burning cookstoves in Bolivian Schools to make more nutritious meals for the children.

Over the last three years move than 67,000 Bolivian children have had improved school meals!  This is an amazing number to me and I can’t help but smile when I think about all the children that have meals today because of the work of Truvia!
