How to Cook as a Busy Mom

April 19, 2021   |   Leave a Comment

It doesn’t matter what age your kids are, you most likely still cook for them. I have been cooking for my kids for many years and I thoroughly enjoy it. As a busy mom, I like to take shortcuts and make things as easy as possible. I want to share how I cook as a busy mom!

Choose the Night Before

If I can, I try to pick lunch or dinner the night before. This is helpful if you need to get something out of the freezer for it to unthaw. Some of you are great about menu planning, which is fantastic! I’m usually a day ahead on planning, which still works! You have to do what works best for you and your family.

Get the Kids Involved

You are helping your kids SO much by getting them involved in the cooking process. Not only are you helping yourself out as a busy mom, but you are teaching them a lot. Believe it or not, but some kids actually enjoy cooking and it’s something they will take with them the rest of their life. As a busy mom who needs to cook, getting the kids involved is a life skill they will take with them forever.

Use the Right Tools

It’s going to be hard to cook every single day if you don’t have the right tools. Making sure you have everything you need to cook delicious meals just takes a little planning. There are some kitchen tools I have gone without over the years, but I have made it my mission to make sure I have everything I need. Whether it’s a spatula or a special pan, don’t be afraid to invest in your kitchen.

Cook with Products You Love

There used to be nights that I dreaded cooking simply because I didn’t know which products to use. I started using Wildtree because they have spice blends, sauces, seasonings, culinary oils. Pretty much anything you could ever need to cook with, they have in their product line!

One of my favorite things to use Wildtree products is cooking meat. I think the Wicked Good Slow Cooker Sauce is perfect on salmon. When you watch your kids and husband gobble down dinner because they love the flavor, you’ll totally understand.

Seasoning for Every Occasion

Don’t like seafood? That’s okay because you can use the Rancher Steak Rub, Garlic Galore Blend, or the Memphis Dry Rub. There is a seasoning for every occasion.

Sheet Pan Collection

Something else I love about Wildtree is that they have a Sheet Pan collection. So, if you’re like me and make a lot of sheet pan meals, you’ll love their seasoning options: Sheet Pan Teriyaki Sauce, Jamaica Jerk Seasoning, Fajita Seasoning, Scampi Seasoning. You can make a lot of food at once and make it taste amazing!

And Wildtree even has products like Hoison Sauce, Organic Ketchup, and Absolutely Onion Blend. If there is seasoning or product you need for your kitchen, they have it. Without a doubt, these products will become staples in your kitchen.

About Wildtree

They have over 100 spice blends, sauces, mixes, oils, and meal solutions. Wildtree has been around for over 20 years ago. Since then, Wildtree has become an important part of the American kitchen!

What tips would you offer on how to cook as a busy mom? We are all busy, but I want to hear YOUR tips on how you survive cooking for your family. What tools do you use?
