How to Feel Well Rested After A Long Flights

June 29, 2018   |   Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zzzquil. All opinions are 100% my own.

Have you ever had to take a long flight and were so tired when you landed that you couldn’t enjoy your trip? Getting rest during a long flight can be hard – I know it was for me. However, since I fly so much, I’ve gotten pretty good at it. You just need to come prepared to wind down and fall asleep, so make sure you check out my tips.

Wind down with aromatherapy

Sometimes you’re not always ready to fall asleep when you step foot on the plane but know that falling asleep is your best bet to begin adjusting to your new time zone. To help me wind down, I’ve started using the new Vick’s Pure Zzz’s Soothing Aromatherapy Balm. The soothing chamomile and lavender scents help me relax – and it leaves my skin feeling soft, as an added bonus!

Don’t forget the earphones

When it comes to falling asleep during long flights, it’s hard if you don’t have something to cover your ears. You can even get fancy and bring along noise-canceling earphones. It’s so nice when you can cancel out the noise that’s happening around you, especially when it’s going to be happening for the next 5-10 hours.

Bring along a nice pillow

In order to fall asleep during long flights, sometimes you need a nice pillow. Of course, it can’t be too big because you still need to be able to fit it in your seat. There are tons of nice neck pillows out there that make the perfect companion for a flight.

Keep the sun out with an eye cover

It’s true! I have brought an eye cover with me to help fall asleep during long flights. The eye cover helps to block out the light. For me, it helps me to relax and rest without my eyes getting distracted with what’s happening behind or in front of me. If you add this to earphones, plus a comfy pillow, you’ll be asleep in no time.

Try to move to an empty row

A lot of airlines will allow you to move to an empty seat once everyone is on the plane. If you’re going to fall asleep on long flight, then you need plenty of space. I like to spread out and have plenty of room on long flights. If this isn’t possible, then I try to move to a seat that only has one person in the row. That way we’re not rubbing elbows with each other.

Bring some Vicks® ZzzQuil™ PURE Zzzs™ Melatonin Gummies with you

My secret weapon for falling asleep on long flights, beating jetlag and all the times I just can’t fall asleep is taking Vicks® ZzzQuil™ PURE Zzzs™ Melatonin Gummies with you. Seriously, they have saved me so many times. It can be so hard to fall asleep in a place that is unfamiliar or generally uncomfortable. The gummies help me to fall asleep naturally and wake up feeling refreshed.*

Vicks® ZzzQuil™ PURE Zzzs™ Melatonin Gummies are vegan, vegetarian, drug-free and contain a unique blend of lavender, chamomile, valerian root and lemon balm. They also have an optimal level of melatonin for no next-day grogginess.*

I like to take Vicks® ZzzQuil™ PURE Zzzs™ Melatonin Gummies  about 30 minutes before I’m ready to nod off, then watch a show or listen to a podcast. When we flew to Paris, I was able to sleep for six hours! It was fabulous!

The next time you’re on a long flight or trip, try these tips to help you wind down, relax and fall asleep! You’ll want your rest on a long flight, trust me. What tips would you add to this list?
