I’m sharing these laundry tips in my life as part of a Tide® sponsored series for Socialstars™ #TideThat
Let’s be honest, laundry is NOT my favorite chore in the world. It’s one of those jobs that feels like it’s just never finished because something needs to be rewashed, folded, put away or I’m on a search for a lost sock that’s somewhere in the house but maybe the dog ate it.
Oh, laundry. How can we become better friends?
If you feel the same as me, here are a few laundry tips that have helped me overcome my hate of dirty cloths!
Getting Laundry Clean
Let’s talk about my boys. They’re filthy little creatures that seem to find every single puddle, dirt pile, mud hole, and every other messy thing you can think of. There outfits end up covered in dirt and food every day. It’s lovely.
I went through a time where I just couldn’t get there jeans clean and there shirts were so stained up they weren’t able to wear them in public.
My first and most important tip is to find a laundry detergent that really works! Thankfully Tide® Pods are exactly what I needed and couldn’t be any easier to use!
I drop two Tide Pods in the washer before putting my large load of clothes in and Boom! – my boys don’t have filthy jeans and shirts anymore! Having a go to detergent that gets the job done is by far the most important tip I can share with you! The best part about Tide Pods is that they can be used in warm or cold water!
Organize Your Space
One way that I’ve found to get laundry finished quicker is by getting organized. It may sound simple but having hampers to divide your clothes into really helps.
We also have one laundry basket for each member of the family, when we’re folding the clothes we put them in the correct basket so they can grab it and put them away.
Socks!
Seriously, where is the other sock! I could not believe the amount of socks that were missing the last time I did laundry. Where do they go? The dog can only run off with so many – you would think!
We’ve started to buy each member of the family a different sock and always the same so they’re easier to pair up and we know who’s are who’s. It’s helped quite a bit but I’m telling you the socks still disappear!
Have Your Kids Help
My boys bedrooms are in the basement so we put a second laundry room in the basement for them. They do their own laundry too! Getting everyone involved in helping with the laundry helps make it get done much quicker!
Make Your Laundry Room Pretty
I love working in my laundry room so much more, now that I have decorated and made a more cheerful and beautiful space. By simply adding a lamp and some decor, the room has a completely different feel and I love being in there.
If this is all it takes – DO IT!
