Thanks to the partnership I have with Discount Tire on this post, I am sharing my favorite road trip destinations in my state.
As a homeschooling mom, I love being able to take “staycations” whenever we want. I just so happen to love the state we live in and am quite content to explore it. I am truly thankful to be here in Florida! While I would love to branch out and visit other places, right now with two little ones close to home is best for us. So we take long weekends, and even midweek break sometimes to enjoy central Florida to it’s fullest.
What is it that I love so much about my state? The weather for one, most of the time. It would be nice to have an actual winter and not wear shorts at Christmas but for the most part I wouldn’t trade it for a pile a of snow. Right now we are having lows in the upper 70’s- beautiful! The kids enjoy lots of time outside in the yard but also at our local amusement parks and playgrounds.
Some of our favorites?
Disney World, Orlando- of course!
We just visited when it was all decorated for fall last month and had a blast, this is a must see destination if you are visiting the Sunshine State.
Treasure Island Beach, Treasure Island
Our favorite beach on the west coast or east coast by far. Lots to see and do on the beach and at nearby Johns Pass
Legoland,Winter Haven
Well it’s Lego’s, all about Lego’s. Lego rides, Lego stores, Lego shows.Nuff said?
Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Clearwater
Surely you have heard of our famous residents Winter and Hope, the Dolphins from the movie Dolphin Tale? They live here at Clearwater Marine Aquarium
Dinosaur World, Plant City
I have lived in central Florida my entire life and just discovered this little gem with my kids. If you are ever in this part of the state I highly recommend a visit here with any little dinosaur lovers!
So if already live in Florida or you are already considering a visit I hope you found something to check out! I would love to hear about your favorite road trip destination in your state.
