Making Our Own Soda with Soda Stream

October 29, 2013   |   2 Comments

My little guy loves soda but we don’t let him have it very often so when  Soda Stream was delivered to our front door he was so excited.  He wanted to try it out right away and make some “Soda Recipes” that he thought would be delicious.

He wanted to combine Root Beer and chocolate together and all sorts of flavors that he thought that companies should make so that we could buy.  The Soda Stream was perfect for letting him experiment and find the next amazing flavor, or so he thought.

How the Soda Stream Works

Let me start out by tell you that this is a simple machine to use, I thought that it was going to be complicated but it wasn’t at all.  It’s a matter of pushing a couple buttons, seriously!

You simply fill up your bottle with water, push the button a couple times to add the carbonation and then add your flavor.  That’s it!  Stick the bottle in the fridge to get cold and you’re ready to drink it!

We made a Lemon Lime with Raspberry Soda and it was really good.  No quite the Root Beer and Chocolate that my son wanted, but in my opinion much better!

Information from the Website

Making carbonated water and soft drinks is simple! Turn tap water into sparkling water in under 30 seconds, with no clean-up. Enjoy the freshness and convenience of homemade soda and protect the environment at the same time. No heavy bottles to carry, store at home or throw away. Fizz to your taste and add the flavor of your choice to make your favorite drink. Simple to clean and reuse. With a variety of colors and silhouettes, you’ll be sure to find a soda maker to match with any decor.

There are so many different flavor options to choose from, you’re sure to find one for everyone in the family!

Everyone in the family will enjoy their favorite flavor with SodaStream’s great tasting sodamix — over 60 to choose from! Enjoy traditional favorites such as Cola, Lemon-Lime, Orange and Root Beer, or mixers, including Ginger Ale and Tonic in both regular and diet. Also, be sure to try one of our delicious fruit creations, including Orange Mango, Diet Pink Grapefruit or Cranberry-Raspberry.

You can connect with Soda Stream on Twitter or Facebook!

Disclosure: We were provided a Soda Stream Machine to try in our home, but all opinions are 100% my own.

I’ve been eyeing the Sodastream since it came out. I love carbonated anything, but try to stay away from drinking too much soda. Sodastream just might satisfied my obsession with the fizzy, while being a healthier option.

My family gave me a Sodastream for Mothers Day a couple of years ago and I love it! I’m addicted to flavored seltzer water, and this way I never run out! So glad your little guy got to experiment!
