My Favorite Things Party

Have you guys heard of a “My Favorite Things Party”?  Let me tell you about how to plan your own very simple party but also have a ton of fun with your friends!

My friend Tina and I actually had one of these parties a couple years back, it was right before school got out for the summer and we had a blast!  Here’s how it works, everyone brings their “favorite thing” to give as a gift to each person who attends the party.  So, say there’s five other ladies besides you, you’d bring five gifts to give out and you’d leave with five different gifts, one from each person.  Make sense? Super easy, right?

My Favorite Things Party!

When we had our party a couple years ago, I took white chocolate because YUM!  The other ladies brought things like lotion, candles, snacks, etc.  You don’t have to spend a ton of money on the gift, maybe even put a price limit on it.

Think outside the box, what do you love that you want to share with others.  I came up with a great idea for this years party but first I want to show you how we decorated!

My Favorite Things Party!

I decided to keep with the “My Favorite Things” theme, I’d also decorate with some of my favorite things like white linen, old tea cups, beautiful flowers, pearls, glass plates and trays.  I used just a hodge podge of different items, which I love, to create a gorgeous table for friends.

What I’ve found to make parties easy but still beautiful is to use Chinet® Cut Crystal® plates, cups and silverware.  It gives the look of real crystal but is so easy to clean up!  This is one of my tricks for big parties!  There’s so many different options  – a couple different plate sizes, cutlery, cups, and even wine tumblers!

Another fun idea for your table center piece is to find a try and place several different sized jars, vases or even ice cream float jars like these and add flowers to them.  I picked these up for pennies at an antique store and love that they all have a different design and appearance.

Be sure to serve some of you favorite snacks and drinks too.  I like to make a simple Moscato Pink Lemonade  and my absolute favorite Lemon Brownies!  They’re both amazing and always a big hit!

My Favorite Things Party!

So, for my gift that I gave out I decided to do something practical and give out a set of Chinet® Cut Crystal® plates, cups and cutlery to all my friends.  It’s definitely one of my favorite things and is going to be super useful with the holidays just around the corner!  I put everything together and tied a big bow around it and I was done!  The perfect gift!

Another thought I had was this would be the perfect new neighbor gift too, how handy would that be when people are just moving in and getting settled but haven’t unpacked their kitchen supplies yet.  I think they’d really appreciate a gift like this!
