My Free Chair!

October 24, 2011   |   6 Comments

My day usually consists of alot of driving kids around.  To school, activities, errand running, you get the picture.  I always take the same route to the school and happened to see the chair below on the side of the road with a FREE sign attached to it.  Well, on the second trip by it for the day, I decided it was a new project and tossed it in the back of the truck.  I had a vision of a new desk chair for my office and decided that this chair was worth taking a shot on.
So, here is what it looked like before! It was yucko, really, had to clean and sand alot!
Here is how it turned out.  I am pretty happy with it for the first chair I have ever tackled.  I used a Rustoleum spray paint, the color is called Fossil.  It is a little green, grey and tan all in one.
I distressed the edges lightly, and then used a brown colored craft paint to rub over it for an aged look.  I know, not probably the right glazing technique to use, but I am happy with the outcome.

I definetly have my eye out for another chair to try out my skills on.  LOL.

You did a great job! Gotta love free! I just took a chair out of my neighbors garbage. I'm not ashamed to say that it's not the first time I've done that!
