The Taylor House

Iowa Blogger sharing Recipes, DIY and much more

Our House

Our House is really pretty neutral for the most part.  I have been drooling over new doors, wood doors, of they are soooo pretty.  That really wasn’t going to happen though, so I settled on painting the old one.  I am so glad that I did, $10 bucks in paint was such a better option!!  I love this color!!
Here she is before, not bad.  But, pretty plain.

And, here it is after.  It is sooo hard to see with the storm door and the lighting.  But, I love the color in person.  Unfortunatly, the wreath that I love does not stick out.  So that is getting replaced next!

This is super easy.  If you need pointers on painting a door, just drop me a line.  I would love to help.

When we moved this summer my oldest guy decided he wanted to have a different “themed” bedroom.   He had a sports room but wanted a change.  I could totally relate to this.  We settled on a sort of “vintage cars” theme.  I really like the way it looks, and I am hoping that it will grow with him.

Over his bed is the actual grill to my Grandpa’s 55 chevy!  My Dad recently had it all redone and he passed this on to my big guy to use in his room.  As well as a couple Tire signs.

His Desk area has a couple cheap signs that were in the dollar section at Target and the license plates in the room were given to use by a family friend.  There is an old oil can that I found when I was at an antique shop.

My parents gave him the old Havoline can for his pencils.  Love it, the colors are perfect!!

The hubcaps on the wall are off of the old 55 as well!!

I found this old road sign at an antique store, had to buy it!!  It’s a “T”!!  How perfect is that?!  And, I picked up another old oil can. The “bird” on the dresser is the hood ornament off of the 55 too!!  My son loves that piece the most!

I am really liking the way this room came out.  What do you think?
