Painted Front Door

November 3, 2011   |   6 Comments

Our House is reall pretty neutral for the most part.  I have been drooling over new doors, wood doors, of they are soooo pretty.  That really wasn’t going to happen though, so I settled on painting the old one.  I am so glad that I did, $10 bucks in paint was such a better option!!  I love this color!!
Here she is before, not bad.  But, pretty plain.

And, here it is after.  It is sooo hard to see with the storm door and the lighting.  But, I love the color in person.  Unfortunatly, the wreath that I love does not stick out.  So that is getting replaced next!

This is super easy.  If you need pointers on painting a door, just drop me a line.  I would love to help.

Very pretty color!! What brand and color did you use? Do you see any fading of the red color? I want to paint my front door a red color but I am afraid it's going to turn pinkish in the sun.

Michelle, I'm not sure what the additive is for. I just used an exterior paint, this is what I have done on several doors and they hold up nicely.

Cool work. I need the pointers….hmmm…just wondering if an Owatrol paint additive will be useful for the project?
