Peppermint Lavender Bath Sachets

January 5, 2017   |   Leave a Comment

Some days just call for a soak in a hot tub, especially in the midst of winter. While they are relaxing, hot baths can take all the moisture out of your skin.  But if you use a few special ingredients like essential oils and coconut oil you can turn your bath into a skin conditioning and enriching experience.

This combo of peppermint and lavender is all at once relaxing and exhilarating, making your winter baths a treat.   I made these up in little sachets that can be easily tossed into your tub, and they make a great gift in a pretty jar with a lid.

Peppermint Lavender Bath Sachet

You will need:

2 cups Epsom salt

1 T. coconut oil

1-2 candy canes or a small handful of peppermints

15 drops peppermint essential oil

10 drops lavender essential oil

You will also need:

string/twine

Tulle

scissors

Directions:

Cut tulle into 6”x6” squares, you can use any kind but to warn you- if you use the glitter version your tub will be glitter bombed.

Place peppermint in a food processor or coffee grinder and process until it is a fine powder.

In a large bowl combine crushed peppermint, epsom salt, coconut oil, and essential oils until well combined.

Transfer ¼ cup of mixture to the center of your tulle square.

Draw up sides to create a bundle and tie off securely.

Repeat until all of your bath soak is used up, place your sachets in a large bowl or other container until ready to use.

To use:

Place 1 or 2 sachets under hot running water, soak and enjoy the experience! After bath just remove the tulle and string and toss it out.
