If you’ve been following The Taylor House over the last month, you know that we are on not just a Peppermint kick but also a DIY Beauty kick.  I have been really enjoying making my own products like Lip Balm, Lip Sugar Scrub and now we have a Peppermint Whipped Body Butter that only takes 3 ingredients to make!

I’ve found that if you have a couple ingredients on hand, you can make a ton of different DIY Beauty Products for yourself!  Check out how easy this Body Butter is to make, you even have time to make it as a Christmas Gift this year too!

How to Make Peppermint Whipped Body Butter

Materials You Need

  • 1 Cup Shea Butter (I bought on Amazon)
  •  1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
  • 8 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
  • Mason Jars

Instructions

Step 1 – Combine all ingredients in a double boiler

Step 2 – Heat until everything is melted

Step 3 – Place in the refrigerator and let cool for an hour

Step 4 – When the mixture is starting to solidify around the edges, place in your stand mixer and mix on high.  It should start forming into a whip cream type consistency in about 5 minutes.

Store the Body Butter in a glass container for up to six months.

This is a great body butter to use before bed in the evening, it’s so light and feels great on my skin!  I love it!

I’m loving the Young Living Essential Oils that I’ve started using lately!  I always have my diffuser running with Thieves or one of my other favorites.  Peppermint seems to be my favorite this time of year!  You can find the other DIY Beauty crafts that I’ve made listed below!

I’d like to try & make your Peppermint whipped body butter. Do you buy the shea butter in a soap form?

When I first read the title of your blog post, I thought it said Peppermint Whipped Boy Butter! Can you tell I’m really dragging this morning, Ha.

Anyhow, I love essential oils and the idea of making my own body cream. My skin gets so dry here in Buffalo, NY! When the temperatures drop into the teens, my hands crack open start to bleed, yuck. Shea butter really seems to help.

Thanks for sharing. I will have to look into the Young Living products. Looking for a place to purchase essential oils.
