Photography with Sears Grilling #grillingishappiness #SoFabU

Hi everyone!
I am so excited to tell you about an awesome opportunity that I have!  I was one of twenty people selected for
an online Photography course!

Social Fabric University is an web based class that is being sponsored by Sears Grilling.  It is a seven week course and will require reading, homework, projects, and quiz’s.  It seems pretty involved but I am so excited for the challenge!

Why am I interested in this course?
Have you noticed what attracts you most to certain blogs and keeps you coming back for more?

I love looking at awesome photographs and I am really attracted to delicious looking food.  Pictures of food that make you feel like it is right there in front of you and not just on the screen.  I have wanted to be one of the people taking those photographs but wasn’t sure where to start.

My Goal
With this online course, my hope is to be able to learn about photography and move my photographs to the next level.  I want to be able to take amazing photos to share with you in my blog posts.

Here are a couple of my before pictures on my blog.

Unit 1

This week in the course is our introductions and photo editing software.  I already feel like I have learned with the editing tips that have been provided and it makes me really anxious to learn more!
I will be showing and sharing with you along the way and I would love any feedback that you want to give!

I am so grateful for this opportunity and it would not be possible without Sears Grilling and Social Fabric!  Thank you!

  1. Isn't food photography one of those things that can be done really well or really badly? 🙂 I've always wanted to be able to take great food photos. Food styling is hard, too, and I have a food background…

I think we've already learned a ton of great stuff, especially this week!

  2. Such an exciting opportunity! FOOD is the perfect platform to learn on – that fruit salad pic is making me hungry right now 🙂

  3. Can't wait to read more! I need to sign up for one of these classes but just haven't found the time!

  4. What a great opportunity! I would love to take a photography class but haven't found one I like yet. Good luck!
