Grilling in Minnesota is really only possible during a brief few months of the year, so we really take advantage of that time and grill as much as we possibly can. We like to grill everything from hot dogs to pizza but sometimes an extra special grilling recipe is necessary when you’re entertaining or just want to kick it up a little.
My family LOVES burgers on the grill, I’m pretty sure we could eat them every single day. Last week I decided to make a new burger recipe that used some delicious Mirassou Pinot Noir wine in the burger and the mushrooms that topped it. It turned out amazing, I don’t think I’ve ever had a more moist or delicious burger and topping it with mushrooms really made it shine.
We added some delicious Gouda cheese on our burgers too, it was perfect! Check out the recipe below!
How to Make Pinot Noir Burgers topped with Mushrooms
Ingredients You Need for the Burger
- 1 Pound Ground Beef
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
- 2 Teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Mirassou Pinot Noir
Ingredients You Need for the Mushrooms
- 1 Pound of Mushrooms
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
- 1/4 Cup Diced Onion
- 2 Tablespoons Mirassou Pinot Noir
Instructions
Step 1 – Mix together all of the ingredients for the burgers and form into 4 patties that are about the same size
Step 2 – Place the burgers in the refrigerator until you are ready to grill them
Step 3 – Heat the butter and olive oil in a pan
Step 4 – Add the mushrooms and onions to the butter
Step 5 – Add the seasonings and wine, sauté everything until the wine is nearly evaporated
Step 6 – After you have grilled your burgers, top them with the mushrooms and some Gouda cheese on the bottom.
Enjoy with a delicious glass of Pinot Noir!
About Mirassou Pinot Noir
Mirassou Pinot Noir is a red wine that’s light, approachable and appealing to many palates. It’s also Mirassou’s oldest varietal. The Mirassou family was the first to bring Pinot Noir grapes to America in 1854, they used potatoes to store the grape cuttings while coming over on a boat from France. I have heard this several times at events where Mirassou is present and I never get tired of hearing that story, it’s just amazing to think that’s how this fabulous wine started!
The grapes for Mirassou Pinot Noir are carefully selected from several of California’s most renowned regions, including Monterey County and Sonoma County. Pinot Noir has flavors of cherry, strawberry and red currant which are supported by light vanilla and oak notes. This wine is well balanced with a round, full mouthfeel.
Everyone knows that I’m a Mirassou Moscato girl at heart but this Pinot Noir is quickly becoming one of my favorite wines as well. It paired perfectly with the Pinot Noir Burgers topped with mushrooms. If you’re looking for a delicious, classy and easy to make meal to share with your guests, you can’t go wrong with this one! Your guests will love it!

Love everything about this recipe Chrissy! Red wine both in the burger and in the cooking liquid for the mushrooms… yes please! 🙂 Pinned to try.
I absolutely have to make this! I love burgers and wine and can only imagine how delicious this is. Can’t wait to have my husband bust out the grill for these…and I can drink the leftover wine 🙂
I love using mushrooms in my recipes. They are so hearty & add a ton of flavor.
