PURINA’S BETTER WITH PETS SUMMIT 2016 #LETSLIVEBIG

Last month I had the privilege to attend Purina's Better With Pets Summit for the first time. It's one of those events that you walk away feeling good about a brand that you don't just give your own pet but recommend to other people.
The Purina Better With Pets Summit brings together pet community experts and leaders to explore the future of pet care, and experience how passion, innovation for nutrition, and dedication to quality and safety will help improve the health and well being of pets and they're humans.
A couple things from the event really stood out to me. The fact that abused women often times won't leave their relationship because they can't take their pet with them to a shelter!
One of the many companies Purina teamed up with is the Urban Resource Institute and their PALS program. Their mission is to help bring comfort to the victims of domestic violence. They are helping make domestic violence shelters pet-friendly and donating items to the pets brought in.
At this years Purina Better with Pets Summit, we packed up several boxes full of collars, blankets, treats, dishes and more. Things anyone running from violence with their pets will need. These boxes were donated to a local domestic violence shelter.
Purina has also teamed up with local hospitals to create a pet-friendly room. Sick patients who can't leave the hospital to see their pets, can have them visit. I think this is a fabulous idea. Can you imagine the difference having their pets visit will make?!

Featuring three interactive panel discussions, the Better with Pets Summit examined topics that continue to affect pet care and wellness including the evolving role of pets and their impact on people's well-being, nutritional innovation that will allow pets to live healthier lives, and demystifying pet nutrition quality and safety standards.
After spending the day with Purina at this event it just solidified my faith in them even more. I have no doubt in my mind that they are striving to create amazing products for our pets. Thank you, Purina!
