If you’ve been following us for the last two years, you know that we’ve been building a new home. It’s been a process that we’ve been very hands on since the beginning and with every single aspect of the building. Over the last two weeks, I put together our guest room for summer guests that will be staying with us.
I wanted to share a little bit of the guest room decor as well as a beautiful dresser that we painted with Beyond Paint. This dresser holds a special place in my heart, it was my Grandpa’s dresser that he used every single day for years. Grandpa passed away last October at 96 years old!
I love the way this dresser came out, and I went back and forth with putting it in the master bedroom instead of the guest room but in the end, I had a plan for the guest room that this piece fits beautifully into.
The artwork in the background of this photo are from my Great Grandma and it only seemed fitting to put these in the room too. I need to find the right places to hang them but that won’t take long!
A little bit about Beyond Paint and the process that we used to paint this piece of furniture. Beyond Paint is an all-in-one product that combines primer, finisher, and sealer together in one easy product. Plus, this paint will bond to virtually any surface such as wood, granite, tile, plastic, metal, varnish, etc.
Here’s the dresser before we applied any paint. It’s a very pretty piece but just not quite my style! I knew that a fresh coat of Beyond Paint would bring this dresser to life and make a piece that made the bedroom pop!
Beyond Paint uses the newest nano-particle technology and has more pigment for better coverage. Plus, it’s green – that means Non-toxic and hazardous air pollutants free!
This dresser took two coats of paint to cover it completely. They went on really smooth and dried really quickly too. We waited about four hours between each coat of paint just to be sure it was dry.
The finished product is gorgeous! I had intended to paint the hardware black but after the dresser was painted buttercream, the old color of the hardware just fit perfectly with it! I love how it turned out! I feel like I’m finally ready to have guests stay in our new home!
Here’s a list of where we found the other decor in this room:
