My family recently spent some time here and I wanted to tell you all about it. After all, it’s not every day you get to head to a resort and ski your heart out. Checkout Snowboarding and Skiing in Minnesota at Spirit Mountain, you’ll have the time of your life!
What is Spirit Mountain?
When the snow finally hits the mountain, it’s a very glorious time, especially on Spirit Mountain. This idea of the mountain has been kicking since 1974 and was created to be a winter tourist attraction. The mountain itself has always been there, but the tourism part of it wasn’t.
Spirit Mountain offers 4 seasons of fun. We’re talking 22 runs of varying degrees and 175 skiable acres. You’ll love that there is a 700-foot vertical drop and the longest run is 5,400 feet. One really cool aspect of Spirit Mountain is that it has an uphill capacity of 12,400 people per hour.
What is offered at Spirit Mountain?
There is the Terrain Park, Progression Park, and freestyle features to keep you busy for hours. What is the lift information at Spirit Mountain? 1 High-Speed Detachable Quad, 1 Quad Lift, 2 Triple Chairs, 1 Double Chair, 1 Handle Tow, 1 Conveyor Lift, and Two Chalets
While we went skiing and skateboarding, there is also tubing. Not just any tubing is offered here though. There is a variety of tubing: snow tubing and glow tubing for starters. If you’ve ever wanted to enjoy tubing now is your chance! The next visit, we’re absolutely trying this!
Now that you know some of the specifics for skiing, you may want to start planning your trip to Spirit Mountain. You can buy early season tickets and take advantage of cheaper prices. You can also get a list of all the awesome amenities available.
Our instructor John had his hands full, all three of us were new to skiing and very nervous to get started. From the beginning, he said he would have us going down a hill by the end of the hour. Of course, I told him he had never worked with a family like mine and he may be disappointed. LOL.
Within less than 30 minutes my boys and I were comfortably turning, stopping and having a blast! My kids wanted to stay the rest of the afternoon and just go up and down the hill! It was one of those times that I was so thankful that we had pushed through our fears and made some amazing memories together! We can’t wait to visit again!
Check out the options for snowboarding at Spirit Mountain. You can spend hours going up and down the slope and enjoy every minute of it! Grab your tickets and hit the slopes! To be completely honest, I was scared to death to try this – but our instructor made it so easy to pick it up very quickly. Of course this Mama fell a couple times but it was NOTHING like I thought it would be!
The next time you decide you need to hit the slopes, hopefully, you’ll hit up Spirit Mountain. Our family had so much fun here and we hope to go back soon. There is nothing quite like Snowboarding and Skiing in Minnesota at Spirit Mountain.
If you’re looking for an amazing place to stay while you’re in Duluth, we had a fabulous time at Pier B resort. It’s right on the lake, has a delicious restaurant and spacious rooms!
