Are You Spending Too Much Time On Laundry?

June 10, 2016   |   Leave a Comment

Laundry. It’s one of those things that no one really loves. Either you hate it or you only love part of it. I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be stuck in a rut with laundry. In fact, you can make it WAY more exciting and save you time as well. Check out some of these laundry hacks to make your life easier and your laundry world rock even more.

Laundry Hacks: Are You Spending Too Much Time On Laundry?

Set Up Colored Hampers
In the past, I spent so much time just separating clothes so I could wash them. Not anymore. In fact, I have now set up colored hampers. Whites, darks, and lights have their own places in the laundry room. You can buy colored laundry baskets or you can label each basket, the choice is yours.
Skip the Dryer Sheets
Make sure you check your manufacturer’s booklet, but I love this next laundry hack. Add a ball of aluminum foil to your clothes as they dry. This will make all of your clothing super fluffy and super awesome. Something about the tin foil and the dryer, work their magic, and your clothes come out looking fabulous. Go ahead and give it a try!
Wash Clothes Before Bed
Another favorite laundry hack is that I put a load of laundry in the washer before bed. It washes when I sleep and then when I wake up, I put the clothes in the dryer or hang them up. This hack has a way of making me feel super accomplished before I even have my first cup of coffee in the morning. Just think, by the end of the week, you can have 7 loads of laundry complete without even trying.
Invest in an Awesome Washer & Dryer Set
To be honest, this is the best way to have an awesome laundry experience. When it comes down to it, your washer and dryer makes all of the difference in the world.

I had the chance to try out the new Samsung AddWash Front Load Washer and Dryer and the last month of doing laundry and completely changed.  Maybe it’s because the new washer and dryer are so pretty to look at or maybe it’s because there are so many functions to the new set that make getting laundry finished quicker and easier!

First, here’s a shot of our laundry room in the new house.  I decided to incorporate it into our master closet which is right off the master bath – after all where do most of the dirty clothes come from.  It seemed to make sense!

Samsung AddWash Front Load Washer

There’s so many features of the Samsung AddWash Front Load Washer that I love.  First, the door in the front – can you guess what that’s for?  You can actually add clothes into the wash that you forgot! No worries about getting water all over either!  Genius!

The washer has a HUGE 5.0 cubic foot capacity that allows you to add more to your load at one time, which makes getting laundry done quicker and easier! The last time we washed towels, I had 3 beach towels and 5 bath towels in the load and I think I could have added more!

One of my other favorite features is the quick wash that gets a load finished in 30 minutes.  So, when my son forgets to tell me he needs his swim suit washed for a meet that night, I can quickly get it washed for him. P.S. This happens ALL the time!

Another great feature is the VRT Plus Technology which makes the machine vibrate less.  I know I always seem to have larger loads in the wash and I’ve never heard much for shaking or noises from the machine! An innovative tub design and special sensors keep heavy loads balanced even at high spin speeds and my clothes come out of the washer more dry now that they can safely spin at higher speeds.

Samsung 14- Cycle Electric Dryer

Laundry Hacks: Are You Spending Too Much Time On Laundry?

Obviously with this dryer you have tons of cycle options, 14 to be exact! My favorite cycle is the wrinkle prevent option.  I have to admit, I’ve been known to throw a wrinkled shirt in the dryer on this cycle for just a couple minutes and it comes out almost wrinkle free!  It has cut my ironing time down significantly!

There’s also an Auto Shut Off that prevents over drying your clothes and saves energy.

Those of you with smart homes will enjoy that you can insert the Smart Home Adapter to this dryer and connect it to the home network using the Samsung Smart Home App so that you can control the dryer remotely.

The set is ENERGY STAR®-rated and you can house them side by side or stacked, we have ours side by side and I plan to put a counter over top for folding and stacking. You can learn more about this Samsung Washer and Dryer at bestbuy.com @BestBuy @SamsungTweets #bbysamsung

I’d love to hear your favorite laundry hack. What tips do you want to share with me?
